Influence of Human Resource Information Systems Implementation On Employee Performance in Kajiado County Government

The widespread use of information systems in a variety of activities and departments has been aided by businesses' widespread acceptance of technology. Despite this, the Kajiado County Government has been facing inadequate service delivery, which is exacerbated by personnel performance that falls short of deadlines or timeframes in reaching targets. The purpose of this research was to assess how HRIS affects employee performance in Kajiado County Government. The study's precise goals were to see how e-recruiting, e-training and development, e-payroll management and e-performance management influence employee performance. The TAM model, equity theory, and the AMO model guided this research. This study utilized a descriptive survey research design. A total of 1689 employees, including supervisors and unionized workers, was part of the study's target demographic. 313 county government workers participated in answering the administered questionnaires who were picked out through stratified random sampling. Quantitative data was analysed both descriptively and inferentially. The findings were displayed using charts and tables. Regression of coefficients showed that e-recruitment had a positive and significant effect with employee performance of Kajiado county (β=0.287, p=0.000). E -training and development had a positive and significant effect with employee performance of Kajiado county (β=0.379, p=0.000). Similar results for the two other objectives were obtained where both e-payroll management and e-performance management had (β=0.193, p=0.000) and (β=0.155, p=0.000) respectively. The investigation concluded that human resource information systems implementation is critical in enhancing employee performance. The government of Kenya should encourage all the counties to embrace the e- recruitment process. This is because e recruitment minimizes paperwork and minimizes recruitment costs. Counties should also use digital databases for their employees to minimize forgery and for easier tracking of the applicants. The study also recommends that county government ought to adopt e-training while training their employees. This would help them to save on training costs as well as reach out to more employees. The Kenyan government also need to encourage all the county government to adopt the e payroll management system. This is because e payroll management system is cheaper and more convenient than the manual system. The county governments also need to use the online payroll system to generate pay slips. The Kenyan government also need to encourage all the county governments to adopt the e- performance management system. This would help the county governments to be able to standardize programs and procedures for performance management. The county government also ought to educate their managers on the electronic human resource information system. This would enhance the performance management decision.
