The manufacturing sector in Kajiado County, despite its potential, continues to face numerous challenges in its supply chain operations. Firms in the region often experience difficulties such as delayed shipments, inconsistent raw material supply, high transportation costs, and inventory mismanagement. The researchers used a cross-sectional survey to investigate both the management practices and performance of the manufacturing firms in Kajiado County. 13 firms formed the population and the study selected key individuals using purposive sampling to reach a sample of 94. The study used a questionnaire that respondents could complete themselves to gather data, and a pilot study verified its validity and reliability. Data were collected through these self-administered questionnaires, which allowed respondents to provide information directly based on their experiences. SPSS and multiple regression analysis were used to examine how operations are affected by the practices used in the supply chain. The research revealed that the main activities in supply chain management, for example, inventory control, supplier management, logistics and demand forecasting (β = 0.35, β = 0.42, β = 0.28 and β = 0.31), have a strong impact on the operations of manufacturing firms in Kajiado County. All variables analyzed positively influenced operational performance and supplier relationship management had the strongest effect. It was found that using effective supply chain techniques helped companies improve their efficiency (R² = 0.74), lower costs and be more productive which improved their competitive situation. According to the study, implementing strong supply chain management practices results in better performance in manufacturing firms. It pointed out that handling inventory well, getting logistics right and maintaining good relationships with suppliers are key to success. Kajiado County firms in manufacturing are advised to keep updating their supply chain processes for greater success and to stay competitive. The report advised that businesses in Kajiado County should buy advanced systems to streamline their supply chains. Firms should also improve relationships with their suppliers by communicating well and working together. Regular training on supply chain management is important and businesses need to often cheque their logistics approaches to ensure they’re still cost-effective. Future studies could investigate the role of digital technologies in enhancing supply chain efficiency, evaluate the resilience of supply chains during periods of crisis, or compare the effectiveness of supply chain practices across various regions or sectors  en_US
